On 1 June 2022, the next international conference of the “Central European Professors’ Network 2022” took place in Warsaw, at the seat of the Polish Institute of Justice.  

The event, entitled “The Right to Privacy in the Digital Age – in General”, was intended to present the results of the first six months of the work of the Professors’ Network’s research group “The Right to Privacy”, through analytical and summarising presentations by the professors involved in the research.  

The research project “Central European Professors’ Network 2022” started its activities in the field of comparative law on 1 January 2022 with the active participation of experts from seven Central European countries (Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia).  

The event was opened by the Director of the Polish Institute of Justice, Prof. Dr habil. Marcin Wielec, Director of the Institute of Justice in Warsaw, Dr. Marcin Romanowski, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland, Prof. Dr. habil.  János Ede Szilágyi, the Head of Ferenc Madl Institute of Comparative Law and Dr. Katarzyna Zombory, the Director-General of the Central European Academy. Special guest of the conference was Dr. Grzegorz Ocieczek, Counsellor of the Polish National Prosecutor’s Office, Associate Professor at the Department of Criminal Procedure, Faculty of Law and Administration, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. 

The conference speakers were Prof. Dr. Vanja-Ivan Savić (University of Zagreb), Prof. Dr. András Koltay (University of Public Service and Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest), Prof. Dr. Matija Damjan (University of Ljubljana), Prof. Dr. Marta Dragičević Prtenjača (University of Zagreb), Prof. Dr. Dušan Popović (University of Belgrade), Prof. Dr. David Sehnálek (University of Masaryk, Brno), Prof. Dr. Katarína Šmigová (Pan-European University in Bratislava), M.Sc. Bartłomiej Oręziak (Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw). 

The conference was organised by the Institute of Justice in Warsaw, the Central European Academy of the University of Miskolc and the Ferenc Mádl Institute for Comparative Law.
