In 2023 there will be 175 years since the enactment of the so-called April Laws in Hungary (1848), which gave the foundations of the modern state.
As a consequence, the Legal History Subcommittee of Section IX of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Legal History Research Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Ferenc Mádl Institute of Comparative Law organized a legal history scientific conference in Hungarian on 17-18 April 2023 in Budapest entitled “175 Years of the April Laws – The Foundation of Modern Hungary”.
